The following IPMEN’08 conference field trips are planed for Monday October 20 and Tuesday October 21 but firstly four important notes.

Note 1: Field trips should be booked using the IPMEN’08 registration form, the earlier the better.
Note 2: Field trip costs are quoted below in Australian $ and may vary slightly from those quoted here.
Note 3: Scholarships don’t cover the cost of field trips.
Note 4: Accompanying persons can also book field trips at conference (if places available).

Field Trips Monday October 20

On Monday October 20 you can choose between half day or full day options for field trips. The half day options include a choice of two morning offerings (either the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority plus Reef HQ Aquarium or Billabong Sanctuary) followed by the afternoon at the IYCC student workshop presentations. Your other option is to choose one of the full day field trips (either the sustainable cities tour or Australian Institute of Marine Science plus James Cook University).

Monday am option 1: Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority plus Reef HQ Aquarium
Monday am option 2: Billabong Sanctuary and “Lunch with the Lizards”
Monday pm: IYCC presentations
Monday full day option 1: sustainable cities tour
Monday full day option 2: AIMS plus James Cook University

Field Trips Tuesday October 21

For those with a little more time and the desire to take advantage of the delights of tropical North Queensland and the world’s largest barrier reef, additional one or three day field trips are available on Tuesday October 21.

Tuesday full day option 1: Magnetic Island tour
Tuesday full day option 2: dive (snorkel and scuba) trip to the Kelso Reef
Tuesday three day option: 3 day and 3 night liveaboard reef and wreck dive trip
