
Current plans for IPMEN 2012 in Chile mean that there will be only one day of formal keynote speakers and concurrent sessions. The remaining five days of the conference will involve a full group field trip south to the fjords and ice of Northern Patagonia. The bus trips and two to three days in these remote locations offer an ideal format for a more informal approach to developing the conference theme, network building and the establishment of collaborative international projects. Activities will be organized at the local schools to meet the youngsters and thereby offer both sides a rewarding intercultural experience.
