Tuesday full day option 1: Magnetic Island tour (cost $65.00)
Magnetic Island is 8 km from the mainland off Townsville it has a population of about 2,000 residents with the island life style very relaxed. The island is surrounded by world heritage marine parks and over half of the island is a national park.
At 9.15 am you will travel from Townsville across the crystal blue waters of Cleveland Bay on a high speed catamaran to Magnetic Island. Once you arrive there will be a three hour guided bus tour to discover the geology, history and wildlife of Magnetic Island – rock wallabies, fish feeding, photo stops, walks and more. After that you are free to stay and explore more of Magnetic Island (all day bus pass included) or catch the ferry back to Townsville. Tour includes ferry transfers, three hour guided bus tour, morning tea, and all day bus pass (lunch not included). It should be possible to organise family rates at the time of your conference registration at Jupiters.

Tuesday full day option 2: dive (snorkel and scuba) trip to the Kelso Reef (cost $142.00)
This trip includes:
- A full day cruise to Kelso Reef.
- Morning tea consisting of cakes/biscuits, fruit tea and coffee.
- A tropical buffet lunch including prawns, cold meats, assorted salads, bread rolls and chicken.
- Afternoon tea consisting of dips, crackers, cake, tea and coffee.
- Marine Biology presentation.
- Unlimited snorkeling including all equipment (fins, mask, snorkel, buoyancy vest). Wet suits / lycra sun suits for extra hire).
- Glass bottom boat tours.
- If you are a certified scuba diver (please bring certification) a package, including, 2 dives with full equipment hire and Environmental Management Charge can be arranged at the time of your conference registration at Jupiters ($70 for one dive, $110 for two dives).
Tuesday three day option: 3 day and 3 night liveaboard reef and wreck dive trip (cost $635.00)
Enjoy diving or snorkelling on some of the most pristine reefs within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Experience unlimited visibility at Wheeler Reef, the myriad of gullies and canyons at Keeper Reef and Davies Reef, and then Australia's best dive, the Yongala wreck.
The provider for this trip will be Townsville based Adrenalin Dive and MV Sea Esta takes a maximum 20 passengers. This special IPMEN’08 conference package includes – 10 dives (including 2 night dives and 2 dives on the famous Yongala wreck), all equipment, meals and accommodation plus Environmental Management Charge.
You will depart Townsville at 8 pm Tuesday night (October 21) so this gives you a day to rest, explore Townsville and prepare for your trip and check in with Adrenalin Drive (scuba divers, please bring certification). Your return to Townsville will be around 4.30 pm Friday, October 24. If you are flying home, either to an Australian or international destination, this means you will need to book accommodation in Townsville for Friday 24 and fly on Saturday 25. You could do this for yourself at Jupiters or the Park Regis Anchorage or you may choose a different option (details in the Accommodation section of this web site). |

Payment: To hold a place on this trip, please pay the deposit of $120 at time of registration (registration closes on June 30, 2008). You will then be invoiced for the remainder ($515 for scuba divers) when you register at Jupiters at the start of the IPMEN’08 conference.
